Mother Tree Networks connect Mother Trees to local organisms, archives, chemical signaling paths, and Airawa communities.

Functions

• preserve communal memory;
• coordinate ecological warnings;
• mediate obligations between species;
• regulate access to ancestral continuity;
• provide the substrate later exploited by the Biological Memetic Engine.

Failure Mode

Trust made the network powerful. Trust also made it penetrable. The empire did not need to defeat every tribe separately once it could turn shared memory into shared infection.
