Mother Tree Networks

Mother Tree Networks are living systems that connect Matriarch Trees with Airawa communities, local organisms, archives, and chemical signaling paths. Through these connections, trees preserve communal memory, pass on ecological warnings, and mediate obligations between species.

Airawa communities depend on the networks to retain access to their ancestors’ memories. The trees regulate that access, giving them power over the communities they serve: defying a tree can mean losing the continuity it preserves.

Imperial Exploitation

The Biological Memetic Engine later used these same networks to spread imperial influence. Connections trusted to carry communal memory became routes for memetic-biological infection. Once the empire could spread infection through those shared connections, it no longer needed to defeat every tribe separately.
