Disconnected Tree Networks

Disconnected Tree Networks are surviving mother-tree ecologies that severed themselves before the Biological Memetic Engine could fully overwhelm them.

They are not unified. Some shelter anti-imperial Airawa communities. Some are more tree-led than people-led. Some may be hostile to every Airawa body touched by imperial bioengineering.

Strategic Role

They actively fight the Airawa Empire through sabotage, ecological misdirection, immune countermeasures, memory preservation, and rumor paths the engine cannot fully digest.

Political Tension

The empire denies they exist. This creates useful pressure:

• soldiers can be punished for reporting real enemies;
• officials can exploit “nonexistent” threats for internal purges;
• resistance groups can weaponize the empire’s need to lie;
• imperial citizens can encounter proof that consensus is manufactured.
